18+ classification and content warnings
Mature content
Authors must mark books intended for adults as 18+. Readers acknowledge they are 18 or older to enable mature content. Plotchi does not ask for a date of birth in this flow. An acknowledgement is not a guarantee that every book suits every adult reader.
Optional warnings
Authors may identify violence or gore, sexual content, sexual violence, abuse, self-harm or suicide, substance use, discrimination and strong language. Open Content warnings on the book details or in the reader to view them. Warnings are optional: their absence does not certify an absence of sensitive content.
Changing a classification
Warnings and the 18+ flag are separate choices. Authors may add or remove warnings and raise the 18+ flag. Lowering the flag after publication requires review. A report can ask moderators to review a misleading classification.
