Reading and your Library
Find and keep books
Browse or search for a story, open its details and check its classification and content warnings. Choose Want to read to save a book to your reading list. Saving does not buy the book. Sign in to keep your list across devices. Free stories can be read without an account. Paid checkout is currently available only in the configured test environment.
Your place and reading states
Library opens on Currently reading. Want to read holds books you saved and haven’t started; Read holds finished books. Owned shows books you acquired, whatever their reading status. Buying does not add a book to Want to read. Start a saved book to move it into Currently reading. Paused books keep their place there. Mark a saved book unread to return it to Want to read. Guest progress stays in this browser until you choose to import it after signing in.
Following authors
Follow an author from their profile, book page or the end of a chapter. Their releases appear in Discover under More from people you follow. Choose View all to see more. Discover also suggests the next unread book in series you’ve been reading. Suggestions do not change your Library.
Notes, bookmarks and collections
Use bookmarks to keep a place, private notes to keep your thoughts, and collections to organise books. Private notes are separate from public chapter discussions. Your account export includes your notes and collections, but not other authors’ purchased manuscripts.
Offline and conflicting changes
A disconnected reader can queue a checkpoint. Reconnect to sync it. If your place changed on another device, reload and choose where to continue. Clearing reading progress in Your data removes resume positions and Reading, Paused and Finished states; it keeps purchases, your saved books, collections, notes, bookmarks and earned achievements.
Editions and availability
Published editions preserve their text. The reader can offer a newer edition while your old place remains attached to its original edition. An author or moderator can delist a book, which keeps existing reader access. A moderator can also block reader access, including older editions and discussion. A retelling is reviewed separately from its original.
Reading comfortably
Reader controls let you adjust type and spacing. Choose Light, Dark or System in Settings. Keyboard users can tab through controls and close dialogs with Escape.
